Turkmenistan is the only state in the world whose status of permanent neutrality has been formally and repeatedly recognized by the United Nations.
In 2025, Turkmenistan proudly marks 30 years of Permanent Neutrality, three decades dedicated to peace, dialogue, and constructive international engagement.

To explore what this neutrality truly means in practice, we are honored to interview
His Excellency Sapar Palvanov,
Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Benelux countries, the European Union, and NATO.

In this conversation, the Ambassador will share insights into the essence of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, its key achievements over the past 30 years, and its vision for the future, as well as how neutrality continues to shape Turkmenistan’s relations with Europe and the wider world.

We extend our warm congratulations to Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of its Permanent Neutrality and wish continued peace, dialogue, and cooperation in the years ahead.
