On 29 October, the Republic of Turkey proudly marked its Republic Day (Cumhuriyet Bayramı) — a national holiday commemorating the foundation of the modern Turkish Republic in 1923. This year, the celebration in Brussels carried special meaning, as Turkey’s diplomatic missions in the city came together for the first-ever joint reception.

The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Belgium, the Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the European Union, and the Permanent Mission of Turkey to NATO.
